Classic Gin Cocktail 30% ABV
The well-regarded mixology master Ada Coleman is credited with mixing this saucy cocktail in 1920 at The Savoy Hotel in London. She was asked for a beverage with a bit of punch in it to appease the thirst of a regular patron, celebrated actor Charles Hawtrey. She served a sweet Martini with a splash of bitters. He sipped it, drained the glass and exclaimed "By Jove! That is the real hanky-panky!" The Hanky Panky is a refresher par excellence but it packs a wallop. Strain Into a cocktail glass, squeeze orange peel on top – enjoy.
Tasting Notes
On the nose: zesty with a subtle hint of citrus and mint
On the palate: delicate, galangal, juniper and rhubarb
Finish: bittersweet with nuances of herbs
Preperation
Pour into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes, stir well and strain into a cocktail glass; drop one dried orange slice into the cocktail; to finish it off, spray with the atomizer.
